Your next buyer is asking ChatGPT for a vendor shortlist. Are you on it?

I help New York B2B companies show up when buyers ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews who to talk to.

I'm Cristian, a Brooklyn-based SEO consultant. I've spent 18 years growing search traffic for companies like Compado, StubHub, Softonic and Microsoft's MSN, and today I lead SEO and AI search in-house at Cockroach Labs, a B2B database company.

The shortlist is being written before anyone visits your site

Think about how your last big software purchase started.

Someone on your team probably opened ChatGPT and typed something like "best data platforms for a fintech company in New York" or "alternatives to [the tool we're unhappy with]."

They got back a short answer. Three or four names, maybe five. A sentence on each.

That answer is now the first page of your sales cycle. The brands named in it get the demo requests. The brands left out don't get a second look, and they never find out they lost the deal.

Your analytics won't show it either. There's no click, no visit and no "lost" stage in your CRM. Just a pipeline that's a little thinner than it should be.

Here's what we fix

01

Where you stand today

I run the questions your buyers actually ask through ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews. You see which answers name you, which name your competitors instead, and which sources the AI is leaning on.

02

Why you're missing

Usually it comes down to three things: your site is hard for machines to read, your content doesn't answer the questions buyers ask, or the rest of the web doesn't talk about you in the places AI tools trust. I'll tell you which ones apply to you, in plain English.

03

A plan your team can ship

A short, prioritized list of fixes: pages to restructure, content to create, comparisons and use cases to publish, and third-party sources worth earning a mention in.

04

Tracking over time

AI answers change week to week. We track the questions that matter to your pipeline, so you can see your brand move from missing, to mentioned, to recommended.

Why this matters more for B2B than anyone else

A consumer buys a pair of shoes in an afternoon. Your buyers take months, involve a committee, and do most of their research before they ever talk to sales.

That research is exactly where AI tools now sit. A buyer asks ChatGPT for options, then for comparisons, then for what other companies like theirs use. Each of those answers either keeps you in the deal or quietly removes you from it.

The upside is the same in reverse: one strong position in an AI answer can feed your pipeline for months, without paying for a single click.

Why work with me

I do this work every day, in-house.

I lead SEO and AI search at Cockroach Labs, a B2B company selling to engineering teams. I'm not reading about AI search; I'm measuring it and fixing it for a real pipeline.

I've built search growth at scale for 18 years.

  • +15% organic growth year over year across nine Latin American markets at StubHub, working across product, marketing, data and engineering
  • 200K → 1M+ monthly users in nine months for Onmeda.es
  • 2M+ listings in 17 languages managed at Softonic, where I grew traffic 1,100% year over year through AI and workflow automation

I understand B2B revenue, not just traffic.

At Softonic I built a sponsored-content business that reached six figures in its first year, selling to companies like Adobe and Avast.

I've tied search to revenue.

At Compado I owned SEO for 100+ domains generating $2M+ a year in organic revenue. I built CompraMejor.es from 0 to €400K in 18 months from organic traffic alone, and turned two Softonic editorial sites from loss-making to €480K+ a year.

I built an AI visibility tracker myself.

As founder of Decoding I built a platform that tracked prompts, brand mentions and citations across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and other models, and took it to 70 users before winding it down as the market consolidated around heavily funded competitors.

A consultant down the street, not across an ocean

I'm based in Brooklyn and work with B2B companies across New York: AI-native software, B2B SaaS, fintech and security software.

That means we work in your time zone, and when it helps, we can sit down in person for the kickoff or the hard conversations.

I only take on a few clients at a time

Because I also lead this work at Cockroach Labs, I keep my client list small. You work directly with me, not a junior account manager.

Common questions

Isn't this just SEO with a new name?

It builds on SEO, but it isn't the same. Ranking on page one of Google doesn't guarantee ChatGPT names you. AI tools pull from different sources, weigh different signals, and give buyers one answer instead of ten links.

Can you guarantee we'll show up in ChatGPT?

No, and be wary of anyone who says they can. What I can do is show you exactly where you stand, fix what's holding you back, and track whether it's working.

How long until we see results?

That depends on where you start. Some fixes, like making key pages easier for AI tools to read, can move quickly. Earning mentions across the web takes longer. You'll see the tracking from the start, so you're never guessing.

Here's how to start

Send me your website and the three questions you'd most want a buyer to ask an AI tool, the ones where your company should be the answer.

Within two business days, I'll send you back a free AI visibility check: who those AI answers name today, whether you're one of them, and what I'd fix first.

No pitch deck, and no retainer to sign up front. If it's not a fit, I'll tell you.

Every week you wait, more buyers build their shortlist without you on it.
